Lucille A Ashley


 

Lucille A. Ashley, age 89 of Celina, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at her residence in Celina. She was born on September 1, 1936 the daughter of the late William and Adeline (Neargardner) Butt, in Versailles, Ohio. On January 15,1983, she married Steve Ashley Jr. who passed away on June,7 2009. She then married Thomas Vogel, who survives living at their residence in Celina.

She is survived by her children Carol Wiler of Greenville, Barbara Hodge of Greenville, Richard (Carol) Godwin of Greenville, Ralph (Brenda) Godwin of Ansonia, Dale Godwin (Jill Sutter) of Celina and Clarence (Angie) Godwin of Greenville, step-daughter Vicky Walling of Winchester, Indiana, ten Grandchildren; Paula (Chri) Derr of Greenville, Michael (Dawn) Mock of Union City, IN, Crystal Nunley of Cincinnati, Steven (Molly) Godwin Arcanum, Marsha (Matt) Murphy of Greenville, Amber Godwin of Greenville, Christina Louk of Ansonia, Chelsey (Chris) Taylor of Greenville, Andrew Godwin of Greenville, Adam Godwin of Hagarstown, IN, Seventeen Great Grandchildren, Three Great-Great Grandchildren and brother in law Harry Browder.

In addition to her parents and her first husband, she is preceded in death by her step-son and daughter in law Leroy (Donna) Ashley, sons-in-law Arron Wiler and Jerry Hodge, granddaughter Terra Hodge, sisters Marilyn Butt, Margary Browder, Betty (Charles) McEldowney.

She worked at Shellar Globe in Union City for 25 years and retired from Kozy Kampground in Celina. She was a former member of The Celina Eagles Aerie #1291. She enjoyed fishing and going gambling at the casino.

A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina at a later date. Family and friends may call from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Sunday. A continue celebration of life and a meal will be at the United Methodist Church in Erastus at 2:00p.m. Memorial Contributions can be made to Everheart Hospice 1350 N.
