REMINDER: The Lake Improvement Association will hold its annual fishing derby for developmentally disabled children on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 at the East Bank Fishing Pond by the First Shelter House. It’s a special day for the kids and volunteering is a rewarding experience you won’t forget!We’re seeking volunteers to make cookies and other baked goods (no peanuts or tree nuts, please), help serve, and help the kids bait their hooks.Interested in volunteering? Here’s the schedule:8 a.m.: Set up tables, prepare hot dogs, and drop off baked goods9:45 a.m.: Prepare for kids’ arrival9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Assist with baiting hooks, removing fish, and serving foodThe event lasts until approximately 2:30 p.m.We hope to see you there!
