The following is a Press Release from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office:

For Immediate Release

Celina, Marion Township, Ohio:   Sheriff Doug Timmerman is reporting his office is investigating the death of a 75 year old male.  Central dispatch received a 9-1-1 call on this date (April 20, 2025) at 7:44 AM.   Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene to investigate.   It appears the male victim suffered what appears to be a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Due to there being uncertainty, the scene was secured and detectives applied for and was granted a search warrant signed by Celina Municipal Court Judge Kathryn Speelman.  The Sheriff’s Office requested BCI&I crime scene unit, who responded and processed the scene.   The victim will be transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s office for an autopsy to be conducted.  Deputies were assisted on scene by BCI&I, and St. Henry Squad.  This shooting remains under investigation. 

Deceased was Lloyd Schwieterman, from Depweg Road, Celina.
