COLUMBUS CITY SCHOOLS REVISED BUSING POLICY HAS PROMPTED THE STERN ATTENTION OF OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL DAVE YOST.
ATTORNEY GENERAL DAVE YOST CLAIMS COLUMBUS CITY SCHOOLS NEW BUSING RESTRICTIONS GO AGAINST OHIO STATE LAW. YOST SAYS IF THE DISTRICT DOES NOT RESUME TRANSPORTING THE HUNDREDS OF CHARTER AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IT PREVIOUSLY HAD ASSISTED, THEY'LL FACE A LAWSUIT FROM THE STATE. ATTORNEY GENERAL DAVE YOST SENDING A CEASE AND DESIST LETTER TO COLUMBUS CITY SCHOOLS. THE LAW STATES SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE OBLIGATED TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO STUDENTS WHO LIVE NO MORE THAN 30 MINUTES FROM THE NEAREST PUBLIC SCHOOL.
