WAPAKONETA — The 174th Auglaize County Fair will wrap up with one of its biggest nights of the year as country music star Craig Morgan takes the stage on Saturday, August 8th, with special guest Colby Lee Swift.
Concert gates open at 5:30 p.m., giving fans plenty of time to grab dinner, enjoy the midway, and experience everything the fair has to offer before the show begins. Before the music starts, fair officials are asking everyone to be in their seats by 7:00 p.m. for a very special announcement that will close the chapter on the 174th Auglaize County Fair and officially kick off preparations for the fair's historic 175th Anniversary. Fair officials describe the announcement as a major milestone in the history of the Auglaize County Fair, one that celebrates the heritage of both Wapakoneta and Auglaize County while looking toward the future.
"This is something we've been working on for a long time," fair officials said. "It's a moment we're incredibly proud of, and it's something you'll only be able to experience by being in the grandstands. We truly believe it's going to be a special night for our community."
Following the announcement, Colby Lee Swift will open the evening before Craig Morgan takes the stage at approximately 8:30 p.m. Known for hits including "International Harvester," "That's What I Love About Sunday," "Almost Home," and "Redneck Yacht Club," Morgan has become one of country music's most recognizable entertainers. "Craig Morgan is exactly the kind of performer we look for," fair officials said. "He brings energy, connects with the crowd, and puts on a show that keeps fans engaged from start to finish. We think it's the perfect way to close out another great year at the Auglaize County Fair."
Preparations are well underway as crews, volunteers, and Fair Board members put the finishing touches on the fairgrounds. Officials have also worked closely with the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office, Wapakoneta Police Department, Auglaize County EMA, and other local agencies to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone attending.
The concert is open to all ages and offers three seating options: Party Pit – $40.00, Track Seating – $30.00, and Grandstand Seating – $20.00. Free parking is available, and guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the rides, exhibits, livestock barns, vendors, and fair food before heading to the grandstands.
Tickets are available online at auglaizecountyfair.org/tickets or at the Fairgrounds Office prior to the start of the fair. "We're expecting a tremendous crowd and encourage everyone to purchase tickets ahead of time," fair officials said. "Saturday night is going to be a memorable way to end fair week, and we can't wait to welcome everyone to Wapakoneta."
