Coldwater Council considers animal-control ordinance, receives project updates

Coldwater Village Council has given first reading to an ordinance intended to address the community’s unattended dog and cat population.

Village Manager Jason Eyink said Ordinance 1779 would establish controls aimed at reducing the number of unattended animals within the village. Additional details about the proposed regulations were not included in his report.

Eyink also updated council on the State Route 118 improvement project. Crews were working to finish the intersection portion of the project, with paving expected to be completed.

A water-line replacement project near North First Street has also been completed.

Council scheduled a Safety Committee meeting for August 10 at 6:15 p.m. The village’s official calendar lists another regular council meeting for August 24 at 7 p.m.
