Scott White has been sworn in as the newest member of the Van Wert City Schools Board of Education.
White, a lifelong Van Wert resident and Van Wert High School graduate, was selected from three applicants interviewed for the vacant position.
He replaces Thaison Leaser, who resigned June 30 after moving outside the school district.
White currently serves as administrator of VanCrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. He joins Board President Anthony Adams, Vice President Julie Burenga and board members Dr. Debby Compton and Greg Blackmore.
To remain on the board, White will need to run in a special election in November 2027. The winner will serve the remainder of the term, which expires December 31, 2029.
