46-year-old Fort Jennings man sentenced to 22 months in prison

A 46-year-old Fort Jennings man has been sentenced to a total of 22 months in prison in connection with two Mercer County cases involving violations of a protection order.

Edward J. Sellers was sentenced Wednesday to 12 months in prison in his older case and 10 months in the newer case. The sentences were ordered to run consecutively, meaning Sellers will serve one term after the other.

The older case dates back to August 9, 2024. Court documents state Rockford police found Sellers inside a South Main Street residence despite a Mercer County Common Pleas Court protection order prohibiting him from being at the home or contacting the protected person.

Sellers was later indicted in a separate case on another fifth-degree felony count of violating a protection order. The indictment alleges that violation occurred between December 30, 2025, and January 29, 2026.

Sellers will serve 12 months for the older case followed by 10 months for the newer case, for a combined sentence of 22 months. Information concerning any credit for time already served was not provided.
