Fort Recovery Council reviews infrastructure projects and annexation services

The Fort Recovery Village Council approved an ordinance outlining the municipal services that will be provided to newly annexed territory during its latest regular meeting.

Village Administrator Aaron Rengers said council members also received updates on several infrastructure projects, including the village’s lagoon wastewater study, water plant, North Lane pump station and planned water and sanitary sewer extensions.

Work on the ODOT trail project continues to move forward, while sidewalk installation has begun along State Route 49. A starting date has not yet been determined for the village’s upcoming overlay project.

Council also reviewed the pool renovation project and the village’s Community Reinvestment Area. Officials are continuing work on updates to Fort Recovery’s water and wastewater ordinances for 2027.

Council members thanked Jim Cooper and his family for donating a new sign for the downtown area near the park and cinema theater.

The next Fort Recovery Village Council meeting is scheduled for August 3.

The village’s America 250 celebration will be held Saturday, July 25.
