St. Marys man faces felony drug charge following Celina traffic stop

A St. Marys man is facing felony and misdemeanor drug charges following a traffic stop in Celina.

Faron S. Rouse has been charged in Mercer County Common Pleas Court with fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and fourth-degree misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an affidavit filed with the court, a Celina police officer was traveling north on Lakeshore Drive shortly before 10 p.m. on July 11 when he allegedly saw a vehicle cross the center line near South County Road.

The officer stopped the vehicle after it turned onto South County Road and entered the Pullman Bay parking area. Court documents state Rouse was driving with a suspended license and acknowledged that he knew about the suspension.

Rouse reportedly consented to a search of the vehicle. Police allege they found a glass pipe with residue and a glass container holding a clear crystalline substance inside the glove compartment. The officer identified the substance as suspected methamphetamine.

Rouse was arrested and taken to the Mercer County Jail. The criminal complaint was filed July 13.

The charges are allegations, and Rouse is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
