Celina School Board to consider superintendent salary range, property transactions

The Celina City Board of Education will meet Monday, July 20, at 6 p.m. in the Tri Star Career Compact Star Room.

Among the items on the agenda is the establishment of a salary range between $115,000 and $170,000 for the district’s superintendent position. The board is also scheduled to consider a 3% pay increase for executive secretaries during the 2026-27 contract year, along with updated compensation plans for executive secretaries and administrators.

The board will consider accepting a $498,000 bid from Isaac and Hanah Daniel for the district-owned property at 1225 Shinn Drive. The property was previously offered through a public auction.

Another property transaction would authorize Tri Star to purchase two lots at 107 and 109 Mercer Street for a combined $40,000. The properties would be used for the 2026-27 Tri Star house project.

Treasurer Michelle Mawer will present the district’s June financial reports. The district ended June with a balance of nearly $56.9 million, including approximately $28.4 million designated for the building project.

The board will also consider transferring $5,000 from the district athletic fund to the baseball turf fund and accepting two donations. The Celina American Legion donated $1,000 to the Tri Star Law and Public Safety Program, while Rod and Barb Carpenter donated $5,000 to the district’s special education department.

Other agenda items include:

  • A tuition-discount agreement between Tri Star and the University of Toledo for career-technical teachers.
  • A district online learning plan feasibility statement.
  • Second readings of policies involving employee drug and alcohol testing and student transportation.
  • Personnel and stipend payments.
  • Reports covering facilities, food services, Head Start and employee organizations.

The board has also scheduled an executive session to discuss the employment of a public employee or official.
