The Minster Board of Education approved several preparations for the 2026-27 school year during its monthly meeting.

The board approved athletic ticket prices for the upcoming school year, authorized the superintendent to waive or reduce student fees for families who qualify and approved the district’s bus routes.

Board members also accepted three $500 donations from the Minster Athletic Boosters, Minster Civic Association and the Fred and Sherry Sommer Foundation. The combined $1,500 will support a Leadership Built Here seminar.

Elementary Principal Mandy Albers presented third-grade English language arts testing results and reported that new teachers and intervention specialists are completing training connected to Ohio’s science of reading requirements.

Junior-Senior High School Principal Austin Kaylor provided the board with Advanced Placement and ACT testing results.

Treasurer Gina Selby reviewed fund transfers and advances, updated insurance rates, special education funding and the district’s overall budget performance.

In other business, the board approved two additional vacation days for specified classified employees, declared transportation for certain students to be impractical and offered payment in place of transportation. Board members also completed the first reading of revised district policies.

Several bus drivers, substitute bus drivers and extracurricular contracts were also approved.

The board entered executive session to discuss the employment and compensation of a public employee, district security and emergency-response protocols, and the purchase or sale of property. No action was taken following the session.

The next Minster Board of Education meeting is scheduled for August 10 at 7 p.m. in the Large Group Room.
