Parkway school board to consider retirements, staffing and lunch prices

The Parkway Local Board of Education will meet Wednesday, July 15, to consider several personnel, financial and back-to-school items.

The board is expected to accept the retirement of Treasurer Debra Pierce, effective July 31. Members will also consider several additional resignations, including teacher Doug Hughes, teacher’s aides Addison Barna and Briana Thomas, and bus driver and secretary Lynette Hughes.

The agenda also includes proposed one-year contracts for teacher’s aides Krista Hughes, Landon Moody and Aubrey Slone, along with preschool personnel and several volunteer coaching assignments.

Board members will also consider keeping cafeteria prices unchanged for the 2026-27 school year. Elementary lunches would remain $2.35, middle school lunches $2.60 and high school lunches $2.70.

Other agenda items include approval of student book fees, temporary appropriations, several fund transfers and a $2,500 stipend for Nicholas Steinke to serve as bus supervisor.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Parkway Local School District Community Room.
