Stacy Beougher Highlights Busy Holiday Week In Celina
Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Beougher says several community events are coming up in Celina and Mercer County as the July 4th holiday approaches.
The Celina Farmers Market continues every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. The market features locally homegrown, homemade, and home-produced products, along with weekly activities for kids. This Saturday, July 4th, the Friends of the Market will oversee the children’s activities.
Also on Saturday, July 4th, the community fireworks display will be held along Grand Lake. This year’s fireworks are presented by the Celina Eagles and Celina Moose Lodges as the community celebrates 250 years of America.
On Sunday, July 5th, Celina’s Summer Concert Series will continue at the Amphitheater with Direct Energy. The band features a mix of rock and a dynamic horn section, recreating the sounds of artists such as the Doobie Brothers, the Eagles, and Chicago. The Mercer County Marksman 4-H Club will be serving food before the concert, with freewill donations accepted. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled.
The Mercer Health 5K Challenge also continues this weekend with the Redskin Classic Walk Run on Sunday, July 5th, in St. Henry. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with race time set for 8:45 a.m. The chip-timed event starts and finishes near St. Henry High School. More information and registration are available at mercerhealth5kchallenge.com.
Beougher also reminds residents to save the date for the annual Taste of Celina Block Party, which will be held Friday, July 10th, in downtown Celina. The event will include food samples from 12 local restaurants, entertainment from local musician Greg Klink, a kids zone provided by Grand Lake United Methodist Church, and the all-new Duck Drop Raffle.
Duck Drop tickets are available at the Chamber office for $20 each, giving participants a chance to win up to $10,000. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit youth initiatives and scholarships.
Celina Lake Festival presale ride tickets are also available now at the Chamber office for $12. The discounted tickets are made possible through donations from the Celina Eagles and Celina Moose Lodge. The tickets are good for unlimited rides on the day of your choice and will be redeemed at the festival for a ride band. Ride passes at the festival will cost $25.
The Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce office is located at 121 East Logan Street in Celina and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed Friday, July 3rd, for the July 4th holiday.
