Celina Man Dies Following Motorcycle Crash In St. Marys

A Celina man has died following a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon in St. Marys.

According to St. Marys Police Chief Lucas Turpin, police and fire crews responded around 1:24 PM on June 24th to the intersection of Kishler Street and Indiana Avenue, also known as State Route 29, on a report of a single vehicle injury crash.

The preliminary investigation found that 23-year-old Parker Wiechart of Celina was traveling north on Kishler Street and crossing the intersection with Indiana Avenue while operating a 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Authorities say Wiechart lost control of the motorcycle while crossing the intersection, causing the rear tire to strike a curb on Kishler Street. He was thrown from the motorcycle.

Police say Wiechart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

He was taken to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Location: Kishler St. and Indiana Ave. (SR 29), St. Marys, Ohio

On Wednesday June 24th, 2026, at 1324hrs the St. Marys Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Kishler St. and Indiana Ave. (SR 29) in the City of St. Marys on a report of a single vehicle injury crash.

A Preliminary investigation revealed that 23-year-old Parker Wiechart of Celina, Ohio was traveling north on Kishler St. crossing the intersection with Indiana Ave. (SR 29) operating a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle. While crossing thru the intersection, Mr. Wiechart lost control of his motorcycle causing the rear tire of the motorcycle to strike a curb on Kishler St. which in turn threw Mr. Wiechart from the motorcycle. Mr. Wiechart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Mr. Wiechart was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation.
