Armor Of God Rosary Procession Set For Saturday In Celina

Krista Buschur joined WCSM’s Spectrum with host Kevin Sandler to talk about the Armor of God Rosary Procession in honor of the Sacred Heart.

Buschur said the Armor of God Rosary Procession began during the pandemic, when a group of people came together after churches and sacraments were shut down. The group began meeting outside churches and walking while praying together.

Buschur said the Sacred Heart devotion is meaningful because it points people toward humility, love and faith. She said the event is also meant to help people become more centered on God in the middle of busy daily lives.

The procession will take place Saturday, June 27th, at 2 PM. Those attending will meet at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina.

Buschur said the group will walk through downtown Celina, stopping at locations including the library, the courthouse and the lighthouse before returning. The procession will include the rosary, flags, a crucifix and prayer along the route.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a rosary, wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water.

Buschur said the event is open to everyone. People of all faith backgrounds are welcome to attend, observe or participate respectfully. Families and children are also encouraged to come.

As a tribute to the Sacred Heart, Buschur said people are welcome to wear red, or blue in honor of the Blessed Mother, although it is not required.
