illshire Woman Faces Up To 11 Years In Prison In Auglaize County Drug Case

A Willshire woman arrested earlier this year after authorities reported finding suspected methamphetamine in her vehicle is scheduled to be sentenced August 19th in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court.

43-year-old Nicole Cooper of Willshire faces up to 11 years in prison.

According to a report from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Cooper was pulled over for a traffic violation on the morning of April 23rd on Interstate 75 near Wapakoneta.

An Auglaize County K-9 deputy was requested to perform a sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication. During a search of the vehicle, authorities reported finding approximately 1.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and $806 in U.S. currency.

The drugs were estimated to have a street value of about $20,000.

The Grand Lake Task Force executed the traffic stop and arrest. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the FBI’s Northwest Safe Street Task Force also assisted.

Cooper was indicted by an Auglaize County grand jury on charges of possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs, both first-degree felonies.

Late last month, Cooper pleaded guilty to the possession charge and attached specifications.
