St. Henry Board Reviews Summer Projects, Approves Personnel Items And Cybersecurity Framework

The St. Henry Consolidated Local Schools Board of Education held its monthly meeting Tuesday evening in the High School Media Center.

Superintendent Adam Puthoff reviewed several summer projects, including painting work at the Vo-Ag Building and the resealing of the north and west parking lots, which is scheduled to begin the week of June 22nd. Puthoff also reported that new concrete, fence posts and fencing are being installed at the Wally Post Complex, along with continued progress on the press box.

The district also announced that the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office will use the middle school and high school buildings for active shooter training from Wednesday, June 24th, through Friday, June 26th. Those buildings will be closed during that time.

The board also congratulated and recognized the state track team and baseball team for their successful seasons and state appearances.

Under the consent agenda, the board accepted several donations, including $3,900 from various businesses for calendar ads, $1,100 from the St. Henry Athletic Boosters from the softball 50/50 raffle, $150 from the St. Henry PTO for Creative Arts Day, $480 each from WCSM and St. Henry Bank for the WCSM Tournament, and a $525 anonymous donation to the National Honor Society.

The board also approved budget and purpose statements for the Class of 2030 and High School Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year. Fundraisers were also approved for the 8th grade Washington D.C. candy sales, the Class of 2030 cookie dough sale, and High School Student Council’s Homecoming Dance and Tis the Season fundraiser.

Board members approved contracts with the Mercer County Health Department, PT Services for the district’s athletic trainer, and Shared Services Alliance, in partnership with the Mercer County ESC, for Treasurer/CFO services from July 1st, 2026, through June 30th, 2027.

In personnel action, the board approved Ron Dues to clean school buses at a rate of $175 per bus. The board also approved a $600 stipend for Karla Wiedeman for duties as the 2025-2026 LPDC district representative.

The board accepted the resignations of Courtney Epley as high school guidance counselor, Alex Wourms as boys golf coach, Sharon Dues as assistant cook, and AJ Kremer as 4th grade teacher.

The board also approved supplemental contracts for the 2026-2027 school year and approved several hires. Melissa Kremer was hired on a one-year classified contract as elementary assistant cook. Anne Bertke was hired on a one-year certified contract as a 1st grade teacher. Anna Stimpert was hired on a one-year certified contract as a 4th grade teacher. Rose Kuba was hired on a one-year certified contract as high school guidance counselor. Chelsie Miller was also approved as a summer cleaner.

The board approved five transitional days for Rose Kuba, effective June 22nd, 2026.

Extended day supplemental contracts were also approved for Brad Rindler with 25 extended days, Elisha Hartings with 40 extended days, and Rose Kuba with 15 extended days.

In action items, the board approved authorizing employer pickup of STRS retirement contributions due to new rates effective August 1st, 2026, for Kyle Kunk at 10.5 percent.

The board also approved a resolution appointing Jenn Bruns as Treasurer/CFO of Record for the St. Henry Consolidated Local School District through the Mercer County ESC, effective July 1st, 2026.

Board members also approved the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework as the district’s official cybersecurity program.

The board approved a quote for comprehensive liability and property insurance, along with cyber insurance coverage, effective July 1st, 2026, with Ohio School Plan through Stolly Insurance in the amount of $59,958.

The next St. Henry Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 13th, at 5 PM in the High School Media Center.
