Celina Mercer County Chamber Highlights Farmers Market, Boardwalk Fest, Governor’s Cup Regatta And Taste Of Celina
Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Beougher is highlighting several upcoming events and community opportunities in the Celina area.
The Celina Farmers Market continues every Saturday at the Mercer County Fairgrounds from 9 AM to noon. The market features locally homegrown, homemade and home-produced products. Entertainment and weekly activities for kids are also part of the market.
The Celina Summer Concert Series will continue Sunday, June 28th, at the Big Red Tent with Atta Boy. The band will perform pop favorites with an energetic, crowd-pleasing show. The Mercer County Marksman 4-H Club will be serving food before the concert. Free-will donations will be accepted. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled.
The Mercer Health 5K Challenge is also getting underway. The summer running series begins June 20th. Those interested can pre-register for all races by June 20th to save on the race bundle. More information is available at mercerhealth5kchallenge.com.
Beougher said it will also be a busy weekend in Celina with Boardwalk Fest and the Governor’s Cup Regatta taking place along Lakeshore Drive and West Bank Road. The weekend will feature hydroplane racing on Grand Lake.
Grand Lake Health is hosting Babysitting 101 training on June 23rd and June 30th from 1 to 4 PM. The class is open to students in 5th through 7th grades and costs $15 to register. The course includes instruction on caring for children, emergency care, first aid, safety and discipline. To register, call 419-394-6132.
Tomorrow’s Technology Today is offering a free seminar on business email compromise. The webinar is designed to help businesses avoid becoming victims of email scams. It will be held Tuesday, June 23rd, at 1 PM. Registration is available at tomtechtoday.com.
The annual Taste of Celina Block Party is scheduled for Friday, July 10th, in downtown Celina. The evening will include food samples from area restaurants, entertainment from local musician Greg Klink, a kid zone provided by Grand Lake United Methodist Church and the new Duck Drop Raffle.
Duck Drop tickets are available at the chamber for $20 each, with a chance to win $10,000. Proceeds will benefit youth initiatives and scholarships. Food tickets are also available. For more information, stop by the chamber office or call 419-586-2219.
The Grand Lake Area Safety Council is also offering open enrollment for businesses. The Safety Council is governed by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and gives businesses an opportunity to earn a rebate while gaining workplace safety information.
