Parkway Board Of Education To Meet June 10th

The Parkway Local Board of Education will hold its regular meeting Wednesday, June 10th, at 6 PM in the community room.

The board is scheduled to recognize visitors and hold a Points of Pride student recognition.

Under the treasurer’s report, the board is expected to consider approval of the May 13th regular meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report, financial report, payment of bills and fund presentations.

The board is also scheduled to consider final appropriations for fiscal year 2026, temporary appropriations for fiscal year 2027, fleet, liability and property insurance with Ohio School Plan through Stolly Insurance, and a donation of $874.72 from the Van Wert County Foundation for the Klein Trust Fund.

The superintendent’s report includes a proposed July board meeting date change to Wednesday, July 16th, along with updates on PLT4M and the coaches meeting, Abre, FMX and fund priorities.

The board is also expected to consider several personnel items, including the resignations of Katelyn Glass as a teacher effective July 31st, 2026, and Jennifer Armstrong as a preschool teacher’s aide effective at the end of the 2025-26 contract.

Other personnel items include a one year limited teaching contract for Kelsey Luthman, teacher aide contracts for Amanda Ahrens, Deke Newbold, Brittany Bollenbacher and Emily Miller, a full time substitute teacher contract for William Garlock, and bus driver contracts for Gregory Puthoff and Barry Peel.

The agenda also includes approval of the cafeteria breakfast meal price at $1.65 beginning with the 2026-27 school year.

Board members are also scheduled to consider overnight FFA field trip requests to Carrollton for FFA Camp and Hocking Hills for the FFA Officer Retreat, along with Parkway and MAC ticket prices for the 2026-27 school year.

Coaching recommendations include Aaron Perkins as varsity football assistant coach, Gina Jacobs as varsity girls basketball assistant coach, Lucas Luginbill and Hunter Bruns as middle school girls basketball coaches, and an amendment moving Erica Hays from varsity volleyball assistant coach to freshman volleyball coach.

The board is also expected to consider Todd Henkle as varsity volleyball assistant volunteer coach and a contractual agreement with Nextel West Corporation.
