Celina Mercer County Chamber Highlights Farmers Market, First Friday And Summer Events

Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Director Stacy Beougher says several community events are coming up across the area.

The Celina Farmers Market continues its outdoor season every Saturday from 9 AM to noon at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. Beougher says the market will feature weekly activities for kids, along with returning vendors throughout the season.

Downtown Celina will also host a First Friday event this Friday, June 5th. Tiki Time returns this year with a tropical themed scavenger hunt through downtown businesses. Participants will search for hidden tikis, each featuring a secret letter. Once the final phrase is solved, completed cards can be turned in at Boardwalk Grill by 10 PM for a chance to win a prize pack from local businesses.

The Celina Summer Concert Series begins Sunday, June 7th, at the Big Red Tent on Lakeshore Drive. Ladies of Longford will open the series with contemporary Celtic and acoustic music. The concert begins at 6:30 PM. The Mercer County Marksman 4-H Club will serve food before the show, with free will donations accepted. Concerts will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

The Mercer Health 5K Challenge summer running series is also set to begin in June. The first race is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th. Participants can save on the race bundle by preregistering by June 20th at mercerhealth5kchallenge.com.

Grand Lake Health will host the Kids Health Fair and Fun Day on Saturday, June 13th, from 9 AM to noon at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds Commercial Building. The event will include games, class offerings, pony rides, health screenings and other activities.

Grand Lake Health will also offer Babysitting 101 training on June 23rd and June 30th from 1 to 4 PM. The class is open to students in fifth through seventh grade and costs $15. The course includes instruction on caring for children, emergency care, first aid, safety and discipline. To register, call 419-394-6132.

MAV Youth Mentoring will host its Bubble Run 5K on August 8th at Wright State Lake Campus. The event will include a 5K run and walk, along with a free kids fun run. For more information, contact MAV Youth Mentoring at 419-584-2447.
