Two Injured In Darke County Crash On State Route 571

Two people were injured Monday afternoon in a two vehicle crash in Darke County.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:36 PM on June 1st to the 3300 block of State Route 571. Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville City Fire and CareFlight also responded.

The preliminary investigation found that a black Kia Sorento, driven by 21 year old Kathryn Montgomery of Greenville, was traveling northwest on State Route 571 with her infant child passenger.

Authorities say Montgomery made a left hand turn in front of a white Nissan Sentra traveling southeast on State Route 571. The Nissan was driven by 18 year old Gabriela Edwards of Union City.

Edwards was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. Her front seat passenger, 18 year old Gabriella Pisano of Union City, was transported to Wayne HealthCare.

Montgomery and her son were treated by EMS at the scene and released.
