Minster Council To Consider E Bike Rules, Street Improvements And Utility Purchases

Minster Village Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday, June 2nd, at 6:30 PM in council chambers.

Council is expected to hear a scholarship presentation to Jake Koverman by AMP.

Under ordinances and resolutions, council is scheduled to hold the third and final reading of an ordinance upholding the Minster Planning Commission’s recommendation to deny a zoning map amendment on South Garfield Street. The request would change the zoning from General Commercial C 2 to Single Family Residential R 1.

Council will also hear the third and final reading of a resolution declaring it necessary to improve certain streets in the village. The improvements would include drive approaches, curb and gutter.

Also scheduled for a third and final reading is an ordinance dealing with electric bicycles and low speed micromobility devices. The ordinance would require helmets for riders under the age of 18, require headlights and taillights on those devices, and prohibit class three electric bicycles from operating on public sidewalks.

Council is also scheduled to hear the second reading of an ordinance narrowing a portion of the Second Street right of way between Garfield Street and Stallo Road, and between Stallo Road and Lakewood Drive.

New business includes approval of invoices over $3,000, the purchase of a 1,000 KVA pad mount transformer for the electrical department, the purchase of wire for the electrical department, and moving Carter Elking from introductory status to permanent status with the Parks Department.

The agenda lists invoices at $1,397,283.31 and receipts at $30,509.78.
