The following is a press release from the Ohio State highway patrol:
The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash that occurred Saturday, May 30, 2026, at approximately 12:51 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 274 and State Route 364 in German Township, Auglaize County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2017 Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound on State Route 364 failed to stop at a posted stop sign and struck a westbound 2020 BMW 430I on State Route 274.
Both vehicles traveled off the south side of State Route 274 and came to rest in an agricultural field.
The driver of the Jeep, a 64-year-old Wapakoneta woman, sustained serious injuries and was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.
The driver of the BMW, a 57-year-old Troy woman, sustained serious injuries and was transported by Minster EMS to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. A 60-year-old passenger in the BMW was also injured and transported by New Bremen EMS to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
Authorities reported that all occupants were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Ohio State Highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit, New Bremen Fire Department, Auglaize County CERT, Tops Towing, and Tom's Towing.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol.
