Coldwater Woman Indicted On Theft Charges In Mercer County

A Coldwater woman has been indicted on theft charges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

According to court documents, Stephanie M. Ebbing is charged with theft, a fifth degree felony, and misdemeanor theft, a first degree misdemeanor.

The indictment alleges the offenses happened on or about March 5th through March 6th, 2026, in Mercer County.

In count one, Ebbing is accused of knowingly obtaining or exerting control over a Discover credit card without the consent of the owner or person authorized to give consent.

In count two, she is accused of knowingly obtaining or exerting control over $649.56 in U.S. currency without consent.

Court documents show a warrant was issued following the indictment. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office return indicates the warrant was served and Ebbing was arrested on May 30th.

The charges are accusations, and Ebbing is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
