Now that Memorial Day has passed, one local organization is reminding the community that supporting veterans should not be limited to a few moments each year.
Lots for Soldiers continues to accept Blessing Applications for current and former military service members who may need assistance. The Celina based organization says it is seeking applications to help veterans with needs both big and small.
Tim Rosengarten with Lots for Soldiers says the program can help with a wide range of needs. That could include projects such as a handicap ramp, household items like a stove or refrigerator, or larger repair needs involving an air conditioning unit or heating system.
Rosengarten says the Blessing Application can also be used for veterans facing other challenges, including medical bills or car payments they may have fallen behind on.
According to Lots for Soldiers, the organization was founded on the belief that the men and women who served the country deserve gratitude and support. Its mission began in 2014 and has continued to grow into a project that helps veterans in the community.
Anyone who knows a veteran in need is encouraged to help connect them with the Blessing Application process.
