Minster Board of Education Overview- May 21, 2026
The Minster Board of Education met for their monthly meeting Thursday evening.
Donations
The Board accepted the following donations:
● $243.75 from Minster Journeymans Club for Running Club Ribbons
● The following donations were made for the FFA Washington Leadership Conference:
○ $1500 from the Minster Journeymans Club
○ $75 from Minster Bank
○ $150 from Fennig Homan Agribusiness
○ $100 from Precision Strip
○ $1300 from Minster Service Club
○ $250 from Kard Welding
○ $150 from A & B Printing
● The following donations were made for the football team golf outing:
○ $300 from Bud’s Pizza
○ $100 from Minster Bank
○ $100 from Monfort Family McDonalds
○ $250 from HA Dorsten
○ $350 from Baumer Construction
○ $100 from Minster Dental
○ $100 from 49 Degrees
○ $250 from Garmann Miller
○ $250 from Thrivent Financial
○ $100 from NW Mutual/Brandon Hedges
○ $ 100 from Caddys
○ $100 from Fox Supply
○ A meat box from Branding Iron and a gift basket from Ernst Apparel
Board Recognition of Students
Superintendent’s Report
Superintendent Josh Meyer shared an end of the year update with the Board, discussed open
positions, summer projects and planning for the next school year. Mr. Meyer also thanked the
Minster community for their recent support of the renewal PI Levy. Mr. Meyer’s full report can be

K-6 Principal’s Report
Superintendent Josh Meyer also shared the elementary report. He provided state testing results
to the Board and information about Teacher Appreciation Week.

7-12 Principal’s Report
7-12 Principal Mr. Austin Kaylor shared the Jr/Sr High School update. He congratulated the 61
students who will graduate on Sunday, May 24, congratulated the MHS Symphonic Band on
earning a Superior Rating at state, updated the Board on the 21 FFA members that earned their
State FFA Degree and wished good luck to the spring sports teams in tournament play. He also
congratulated MHS Senior Eli Huwer who qualified for the Skills USA Automation and
Technology competition in Atlanta. Mr. Kaylor also recognized the CATS of the Month for April.

Curriculum and Instruction
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Gina Selby provided the Board with her monthly report. Mrs. Selby informed the
Board that revenues and expenditures are in line with the most recent forecast and finalized
appropriations for FY 26. .

Superintendent’s Consent Agenda
During the Superintendent’s Consent Agenda portion of the meeting the Minster Board
approved the following:
● The list of 2026 graduates.
● Membership in the West Central Ohio Assistive Technology Center Consortium.
● Adopted the Athletic Handbook.
New Business
In new business the Minster Board took action on the following items:
● Approved the collective bargaining agreement with the Minster Teacher’s Association for
July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029.
● Approved the purchase of a new bus.
● Approved a resolution authorizing the private sale of a bus.
● Approved the temporary placement of certain students in a classroom where the age
span exceeds 60 months.
The Board set June 11 at 7 PM in the Large Group Room as the time for their next monthly
meeting.
Personnel Recommendations
The Board approved the following Personnel Recommendations:
● Offered a 3 year contract to Gina Selby, Treasurer, effective August 1, 2026.
● Set administrative salaries for the 2026/2027 school year.
● Offered a long term substitute contract to Sara Osterholt for the first semester of
2026/2027.
● Approved an unpaid leave request for Jessie Magoto.
● Offered continuing contracts to the following teachers:
○ Katherine Binkley
○ Allison Borchers
○ Kristi Counts
○ Gail Dwenger
○ Cristy Hess
○ Jamie Piening
○ Melissa Schmackers
○ Seth Stammen
● Offered a limited 3 year teaching contract to Lisa Schemmel.
● Offered a limited 2 year teaching contract to:

● Offered a limited 1 year teaching contract to:
○ Stephanie Boyle-Fledderjohann
○ Jeanna Heitkamp
○ Leah Ketner

○ Jill Prenger- Head Cook
○ Jackie Clark- Cook’s Helper
● Offered a number of contracts to Cook’s Helpers, summer technology support,
and summer maintenance/custodial workers.
● Offered a number of 1 year limited supplemental contracts for the 2026/2027
school year.

Executive Session
The Board of Education entered into Executive Session to discuss the employment and
compensation of a public employee, to consider details relative to the district’s security
arrangements and emergency response protocols, and the purchase or sale of property. No
action was taken after the Executive Session.
