Celina School Board To Review Donations, Personnel Items And Head Start Contract

The Celina City Board of Education is scheduled to meet Monday, May 18th, at 6 PM in the High School Lecture Hall.

According to the meeting agenda, reports are scheduled from CEA Co Presidents Cheri Hall and Tressie Sigmond, OAPSE President Kent Wicker and Phil Metz on facilities.

The treasurer’s report includes approval of the April meeting minutes, the April 2026 cash summary report, and the April cash reconciliation report. The agenda lists April revenues at just over $6.5 million and expenditures at just over $6 million. The district’s balance as of April 30th is listed at more than $67.8 million, with more than $34.6 million connected to the building project.

Board members are also expected to consider several donations, including contributions for the Tri Star Law and Public Safety program, the Middle School STEM program, the Tri Star Auto Skills program, CHS FFA, and senior unpaid book fees, lunches and gowns.

Personnel items include summer food service workers, extended school year instructors, summer cleaning workers and summer technology work for Tri Star. The board is also scheduled to consider a salary of $73,390 for Tri Star Director Tim Buschur for the 2026 2027 school year.

Other agenda items include stipend payments for summer school, resident educator mentors, CCP instructors and LPDC Executive Committee members.

The board will also consider adding Christian Joseph Springer to the Class of 2026 graduates, if all requirements are met.

Other business includes an MOU to the CEA agreement regarding leaves, a salary schedule for Tri Star administrative positions, and an overnight trip for CHS Media Arts students to Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, for the CCIM Summer Workshop from June 22nd through June 25th.

The agenda also includes Head Start items, including a new contract between the Ohio Association of Public School Employees Local 457 Head Start and Public Preschool Employees, effective December 1st, 2025 through November 30th, 2028.

The board is also scheduled to enter executive session to discuss employment and compensation.
