Mercer And Auglaize Counties Among Ohio’s Lowest Unemployment Rates In March

Mercer and Auglaize counties were among the lowest unemployment rates in Ohio in March.

According to March 2026 county unemployment data, Ohio’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.0 percent. County rates ranged from 2.6 percent to 6.1 percent.

Mercer County posted the second lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.7 percent. Auglaize County tied with Union County at 3.0 percent, placing both among the lowest rates in Ohio.

Holmes County had the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.6 percent.

Other counties near the bottom included Delaware County at 3.1 percent, along with Hancock, Warren and Wyandot counties at 3.3 percent.

On the higher end, Noble and Ottawa counties recorded the highest unemployment rates at 6.1 percent. Pike County followed at 6.0 percent, with Meigs County at 5.8 percent.

Across Ohio, unemployment rates decreased in all 88 counties compared to February.

Statewide, 22 counties had unemployment rates at or below 3.5 percent, while nine counties had rates at or above 5.5 percent.
