Greenville Man Indicted in Mercer County on Theft and Bad Check Charges
CELINA, OH — A Greenville man has been indicted by a Mercer County grand jury on multiple felony charges connected to alleged thefts and bad checks issued to a local business.
According to court records, 48-year-old Andrew P. Underwood, of 425 Front Street in Greenville, was indicted on four fifth-degree felony counts stemming from incidents that occurred on September 23, 2025.
Count 1 charges Underwood with theft, alleging he used deception to take $3,539.25 worth of store merchandise.
Count 2 accuses him of passing a bad check in the same amount, alleging he issued check #145 knowing it would be dishonored.
Count 3 is a second theft charge, alleging Underwood unlawfully obtained $1,340.63 worth of merchandise by deception.
Count 4 charges him with issuing another bad check — check #146 — for the same amount, also allegedly knowing it would not be honored.
All four charges are fifth-degree felonies, each carrying a possible penalty of 6 to 12 months in prison and fines up to $2,500.
Underwood will be scheduled for an initial appearance in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
