The following is a press release from Mayor Joe Hurlburt:

"I have recently been made aware of an incident that took place last night around 4:30am at Circle K in St. Marys. Apparently two groups of older teenagers engaged in an altercation in the parking lot. During the altercation someone pulled a gun and shot another person in the leg. That individual was taken to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys with non-life threatening injuries. 

There is no threat to the public at this time.

The incident remains under investigation as the police continue to gather information. "
