Celina Police release details on a serious injury crash

Re.: Serious injury crash.

 

On this date, April 23, 20025, at about 12:28AM Celina Police responded to an injury traffic crash reported via a phone app. Officers found the crash on SR29 coming into Celina from the east on the curve between Staeger Rd. and Havemann Rd.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed that the crash involved only one vehicle. The driver was identified as a 21 year old California man, Maxwell Myers. There was one passenger, a 21 year old St. Marys man, Sean Kirschmann. Both men received serious injuries, Kirschmann’s injuries are believed to be life threatening.

 

Officers futher determined that the vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Camry, was travelling at a high rate a speed. The driver failed to negotiate the curve and drove off the north side of the road, striking a culvert. The Camry went airborne then landing near vertical on the rear bumper. It then cartwheeled end over end for about 50 yards before coming to rest on the roof.

 

Both crash victims were taken to a local hospital and then flown to trauma units at other hospitals. Alcohol is suspected.
