39 year old Ryan Houser of Rockford will be sentenced on Wednesday May 7th in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court for murder in the death of his girlfriend Barbara Ganger in September of 2023. Ganger was shot and killed at the Van Wert West Apartments on West Main Street. Houser pleaded no contest to the murder charge in exchange for other charges being dismissed. Houser faces a mandatory sentence of 15 years to life in prison without the possibility of judicial release. Houser will remain in prison until at least 2040.
