Two-vehicle fatal crash on State Route 66 in Auglaize County
Wapakoneta – The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on March 27, 2025, at approximately 1:59 p.m. in Auglaize County, Ohio. The crash occurred on State Route 66 at the intersection of the US Route 33 eastbound exit ramp.
Eli Holsinger, age 43, of Saint Marys, Ohio was operating a 2011 Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle. Madison Ricker, age 19, of Fort Jennings, Ohio was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Harley Davidson was southbound on State Route 66. The Chevrolet was stopped eastbound on the US Route 33 exit ramp and then attempted to turn northbound onto State Route 66. The Chevrolet failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the Harley Davidson.
Madison Ricker was wearing a safety belt and was not injured. Eli Holsinger was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital by Saint Marys EMS where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. He was not wearing a motorcycle helmet.
The Saint Marys Police Department, Saint Marys Fire Department, and Auglaize County EMA also responded to the crash.
