Ohio Jobless Claims for Sunday, March 16, 2025, through Saturday, March 22, 2025

This week, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) provided updated data on unemployment claims filed in Ohio the week of March 16, 2025-March 22, 2025. These statistics were shared with the U.S. Department of Labor.

Ohioans filed 5,724 initial unemployment claims last week, which was 262 more than the previous week. Approximately 724 of those have been flagged for more stringent identity verification, to ensure they are not fraudulent.

Ohioans filed 61,949 continued unemployment claims last week, which was 2,386 fewer than the previous week.

The total number of claims filed from March 16, 2025-March 22, 2025, was 67,673.

Ohio’s unemployment rate in January was 4.6%. The national unemployment rate in January was 4.0%. Ohio’s labor force participation rate in January was 62.4%. The national labor force participation rate in January was 62.6%.
