TRASH PICKUP PROGRAM SET TO BEGIN
IN AUGLAIZE COUNTY
Motorists should be on the lookout for community groups as they clean the roadside throughout
Auglaize County beginning early April.
Auglaize County Engineer Andrew Baumer is issuing this alert to protect the various groups of
people who will be participating in the county-wide program.
In 2024, our department partnered with 8 different groups to assist us with litter pick-up along
our county road ditches. In total, the 8 groups picked up litter along 188.5 miles of our county
roads. During the collection the groups used over 375 bags to dispose of the trash-- over 2 bags
of trash per mile. These groups use this as a community service project, but also a fundraiser as
they are paid for this assistance. There are over 102 miles of roads that do not currently have a
group covering the litter collection. If you have a group that would be interested in being a part
of this community service project, please contact our office at 419-739-6520.
The Auglaize County Highway Department provides vests and trash bags, and arrange to haul
away the trash.
