Robert Hogan, age 93, of Coldwater died on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his home in Coldwater. He was born March 21, 1932 in Dayton to the late Edwin & Mary (Schenking) Hogan. On June 6, 1959 at Holy Trinity Church in Coldwater, he married Shirley (Zahn) Hogan who survives in Coldwater.
He is survived by his children and in-laws, Sharon & Tom Link of Ft. Recovery, Terry & John Campbell of Coldwater, Patrick & Rita Hogan of Celina, Michael & Chary Hogan of Coldwater, Sandy Barge of Coldwater, Brenda & Brian Neal of Lima, Eric & Tammy Hogan of Coldwater, Karla Hogan of St. Marys, Holly & Adam Balaski of Ravenna, Ohio, Vickie & Jeremy Wenning of Coldwater, and Kelly & David Kremer of Burkettsville; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Gayetta Hogan of Celina, Norm & Mary Zahn of Celina, Robin & Dan LaByer of Jacksonville, Florida, and Debra Zahn of Denver, Colorado.
He is preceded in death by 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild: siblings and in-laws, Patty & Tom Forsthoefel, Betty & Fritz Giere, James Hogan, Marcellus & Mabel (Klosterman) Zahn, Irene Zahn, Roger Zahn, and Michael Zahn.
Robert was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1991. He was a 1950 graduate from Coldwater High School. He was dedicated to a life of hard work, retired from New Idea after 50 years, operated Hogan Amusements and Kiddie Rides for 25 years, and served as a floorman at the former Ft. Recovery Roller Rink. Robert spent much of his free time woodworking, riding his bicycle, listening to blue grass music and the Big Band Sound, satisfying his sweet tooth, playing cards and enjoying conversation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM on Thursday and 9-10 AM on Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
