NEWS RELEASE 03/24/2025
On 03/23/2025 Officers from the Celina Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a tan GMC for a red-light violation on N Main Street in the City of Celina. During the stop indicators of drug activity were observed and a K9 unit from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office was requested. Through a probable cause search, officers located Methamphetamine and Paraphernalia on the driver Benjamin Bevington (38) and passenger Elisha Kuhn (42) both of Rockford. A firearm with a loaded magazine was also located in the vehicle.
Both Benjamin and Elisha were incarcerated in the Mercer County Jail for Felony Drug possession, Benjamin was issued a citations for No Operator License and a Red-Light Violation.
Additional charges are expected as the case is currently under review by the Mercer County Prosecutor, Erin Minor
