King’s Legislation Honoring Fallen Service Member Passes House
COLUMBUS – State Representative Angie King (R-Celina) legislation memorializing a local service member that was killed while serving the nation has passed the House Wednesday.
King’s legislation will create the PFC John Wayne Richard Memorial Highway on the north and southbound lanes of State Route 47 between McGreevey Road and Long Road in Darke County.
“We pay tribute to the courage, dedication, and ultimate sacrifice of Pfc. Richard, who gave his life in service to our country. This memorial will stand as a lasting reminder of his heroism and unwavering commitment to our nation.” said King.
Army Pfc. John Wayne Richard, from Versailles, served in southern Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He was killed while fighting communist forces on May 21, 1969.
The legislation will now be sent to the Senate for further consideration.
