Mercer County continues to have Ohio's lowest rate of unemployment


Mercer County had the state's lowest rate of unemployment as of January. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reports Mercer County had 3.7 percent in January.  Auglaize County reported 4.2 percent which was the 6th lowest. Van Wert County had 4.7 percent. Allen County had 5.3 percent. The State's highest rate rate of unemployment was in Meigs County in Southern Ohio with 10.1 percent. Ohio's statewide average was 4.6 percent. Ohio had a labor force of 5.8 million in January with 5.5 million people currently employed.
