The following is a press release from the PIqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol:
The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash.
The crash occurred March 6, 2025, at 7:49 p.m., on state Route 29 south of Fort Loramie Swanders Road, Turtle Creek Township, Shelby County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2021 GMC Acadia, operated by Jill R. Albers, 45, Versailles, was traveling north west on state Route 29 south of Fort Loramie Swanders Road when it traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guard rail.
The vehicle then overturned and came to rest in a ditch. Albers succumbed to fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation at this time by the Piqua Post. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Anna Fire Department, Fort Loramie Community Fire Department, Shelby County Coroner’s Office, and Wreckers Towing and Transport LLC.
