Wapakoneta Post Investigating a Two-Vehicle Serious Injury Crash
 
Wapakoneta - The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash.
The crash occurred on February 26,2025, at 5:12 p.m., at the intersection of Mudsock Road and Buckland Holden Road, Duchouquet Township, Auglaize County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2008 Ford Explorer, operated by Christina Mathewson, 65, Wapakoneta, was traveling south on Mudsock Road and approaching the intersection of Buckland Holden Road.
 
A 2023 Buick Enclave, operated by Ted Rupert, 73, Wapakoneta. was traveling west on Buckland Holden Road and approaching the intersection of Mudsock Road. The Ford failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by the Buick.
 
The Fold traveled off the west side of the roadway where it overturned. struck a decommissioned church, and came to final rest embedded in the wall.
 
The Buick came to rest on the south west side of the intersection.
Mathewson was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital by ground ambulance with serious injuries.
 
Rupert was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center by ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Rupert's passenger, Lynette Rupert, 67, Wapakoneta, was also transported by ground
ambulance to St. Rita's Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The crash remains under investigation at this time by the Wapakoneta post. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Auglaize County Emergency Management, Cridersville Fire Department, Uniopolis Fire Department, and Miller Auto Inc.
