District Statement on Football Coach:

Fort Recovery Local Schools is excited to announce the hiring of our new
varsity football coach and teacher, Mr. Wesley Wenning. Mr. Wenning is a
2016 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and a member of the district’s
2015 state championship football team. He graduated from Ashland
University in 2020 with a degree in special education and received his
master’s degree in education administration from Youngstown State
University in 2023. His experience includes playing football collegiately
while attending Ashland University and serving on the coaching and
teaching staff of Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron for the past four
seasons. The district is looking forward to welcoming him back to Fort
Recovery and is excited about the opportunities ahead for our students and
athletes.

‘It is an absolute blessing and honor to return home to this position. I
cannot commend the leaders at Hoban enough for playing a pivotal role in
preparing me for this moment. There were many lessons learned and
relationships built that will always keep that place special to me. However,
I'm very eager to work with the administration and staff here in Fort
Recovery to build an outstanding culture that infects far more than just the
football program. I cannot wait to get to work. There is no place like home!”
