62 year old Johnie Ellis of Celina has been indicted by a Mercer County Grand Jury on a 5th Degree Felony Charge of cruelty to companion animals. According to the indictment, the alleged incident happened on January 21st of this year. Ellis is accused of knowingly causing harm to the animal. Ellis was taken into custody this past weekend by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. Ellis is being held pending a court appearance. To read the indictment against Ellis:
