Fire crews from Botkins, Jackson Center, Anna, and Van Buren Township in northern Shelby County were called to Boomerang Rubber on Dinsmore Street in Botkins just after 6 PM Sunday evening, after a police officer on patrol noticed black smoke coming from one of the buildings at the business.
A second alarm was called when Botkins fire crews arrived on the scene, bringing in additional firefighters from Wapakoneta, New Knoxville and New Bremen in neighboring Auglaize County.
Heavy black smoke could be seen pouring from different areas of the building. The State Fire Marshall's office will be called in to assist with the investigation.
