The Marion Local Board of Education has awarded a contract to Touchstone CDP to construct a new middle school building. The cost is just under 21-million-290-thousand-dollars. Touchstone CDP is based in the Lima area. The project, which came in under estimates, is expected to be open for students in the 2026-27 school year. This building project is being financed through a half-percent earned income tax and a 5-point-3 mill property tax. These taxes were approved by voters in 2023. These taxes are in effect for 30 years.
