25 year old Trey Frech of New Paris was sentenced to 4 years and 9 months in prison this week in Mercer County Common Pleas for his role in a December 2023 fatal accident involving a horse drawn buggy on State Route 49 just north of Oregon Road.24 year old John Schwartz and his wife, 26 year old  Elizabeth Schwartz along with their son were taken to the hospital for treatment. The Schwartz's year old daughter died in the accident. Frech was sentenced on 1 count of aggravated vehicular homicide and 3 counts of vehicular assault.
