Library Digitization Project is now live

Library Digitization Project is now live

St. Marys Community Public Library is excited to announce the launch of its new online historical newspapers!

Due to the hard work of Lori Martensen, funding from Rotary District 6600, the Friends of the St. Marys Community Public Library, and Kraig and Chris Noble; the first part of the St. Marys Newspaper digitization project has been completed and is now available for use by the public!

Newspapers that have been microfilmed from 1873 to 1951 are available at stmarys.historyarchives.online/home. Newspapers can be searched by topic and by date. Explore the history of St. Marys through the newspapers from years past. Gaps found on the site are due to flood damage before microfilming.

Additional funds are needed to complete this project. Donations can be made to The St. Marys Community Foundation at 101 W. Spring St., Suite A, St. Marys, OH 45885 with Library Digitization Project on the memo line.

The St. Marys Community Public Library is located at 140 S. Chestnut Street. Call the library at (419) 394-7471 or visit smcpl.org for more information online. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, too!
