Introduction to Spectrum and Xi, Iota Xi Sorority Kevin Sandler introduces Spectrum and welcomes Mandy Wendel and Kelly Walter from the Xi, Iota Xi sorority, a philanthropic organization founded in June 1971 by 18 women from Fort Recovery.
Fundraising Activities The sorority organizes various fundraisers like cake roll sales, Krispy Kreme donut sales, winner’s meat sales, and the Brook Street Market. They also host events like a mother-son event, garage sales, and a community calendar.
Upcoming Events The Brick Street Market will be held on April 26, 2025, featuring 20 local makers, three food trucks, and a kids’ corner. Community garage sales are scheduled for April 24-26, 2025.
Community Contributions The sorority donates to projects like the Sawyer Overman Ninja Park and the Opera House. They also support the Fort Recovery High School’s Save a Life Tour and the Grand Lake Area Literature Festival.
Membership and Involvement The sorority has around 40 active members and several honorary members. They encourage community involvement and are open to new members from the community area.
