Suspect in custody after fleeing the Auglaize County Courthouse and leading police on a chase

Male subject flees from Courthouse

The Auglaize County Sheriff's Office reports on February 4, 2025 at approximately 12:06
P.M., a male subject fled from the Auglaize County Courthouse after a judge remanded
him into custody. The male subject was present for his Arraignment for Drug Possession
charges. The Common Pleas Judge revoked the males bond and ordered him into
custody. Before deputies arrived on scene, the male subject broke out a window of the
courthouse, jumped thru the window and fled on foot. Deputies observed the subject in
the courthouse parking lot and attempted to place him into custody. The male was
able to get into in his vehicle, and accelerated in an attempt to flee. A deputy
attempting to remove the subject from the vehicle was briefly dragged, sustaining minor
injuries. A vehicle pursuit ensued through the streets of Wapakoneta and continued to
northbound I-75. The pursuit continued through multiple jurisdictions until the vehicle
became mechanically disabled. The pursuit ended on I-75, inside Wood County. The
male suspect was then taken into custody without further incident. The male subject
was transported to the Wood County Jail.

Nathaniel Nix Age 36 Detroit, Michigan
Charged with: Fleeing and Eluding Ohio Revised Code 2921.331
Identity Theft Ohio Revised Code 2913.49

Multiple agencies assisted in the incident which continues to be under investigation.
